Thanks to everyone who came out to Coffer Outfitters last week to do some really great praying! (And to Katie for bringing pie!) I think we made some progress in finding a direction, that being simply a fleshed-out picture of some of the county's needs. Here's the list so you can pray over them during the week:
*According to CPS Lewis County ranks second out of Washington state for sex offenders.
*We're also up there in Meth production/using.
*Marijuana is an issue too.
*Single mothers who feel and are really alone.
*A righteous local government.
*Unity and reality within the local church.
*Strengthening of marriages, especially within the church. Many are being attacked.
*Blessing on Christian businesses.
The theme to emerge that evening was the encouragement of the Brethren. As Benjamin Franklin said, "We must hang together, or most assuredly we shall hang separately." It was true of a bunch of rebels 233 years ago, and it is true of the church now. The enemy knows that the most effective way to pick us off is to get us alone, to get us thinking we're the only ones with these hopes and dreams, that we labor in obscurity, that the darkness is just too great. But the truth is that if the bad guy is winning, the story isn't over, so why not rally together and take comfort and strength for the fight in our brothers and sisters? We're better together! So above all, pray for each other! We all need it.
After this week we should be able to meet regularly at Coffee Outfitters at 6:00 on Tuesdays. This week, however, we're meeting again at Andrew Conway's in Napavine. 6:00, 153 Romerman Rd. Hope to see you there!
