Pray Lewis County was really fun last night. Eight of us gathered at the picnic table in front of Cuppa Joe and brought out prayer requests to be lifted up. There was also a lot of encouragement passed around, scripture poured out and over, and blessing abounded. The theme was most definitely the Lord's timing. I get so excited by the new theme ever week because it means God is still heading this up. He has stuff He wants to communicate, and by the convocation and consensus of the saints He makes it known. All of us have things we are dealing with requiring that we pay attention and abide by the timing of the Lord. (This turns out to be a fancy name for faith. Again.)
The verses brought forward about this were Isa. 30:18-- "And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship]!" It's great! He waits to be gracious till we wait for Him! I love that math!
The other was Acts 1:7-8-- "He said to them, It is not for you to become acquainted with and know what time brings [the things and events of time and their definite periods] or fixed years and seasons (their critical niche in time), which the Father has appointed (fixed and reserved) by His own choice and authority and personal power. But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth." He promises that despite out ignorance of the future, power, ability, efficiency and might will be given when we wait on Him. One of us was really tickled that waiting was efficient!
Now, timing for what? Well, a lot of things. I think the thing that was underlying, though, was that the timing is becoming ripe for unity in the body of Christ in Lewis County. There seems to be a ground-swell in that direction, and we hope and pray it's so. You can put that on your list!
This week we'll be at Andrew Conway's house in Napavine. 7:00. The address is 153 Romerman Rd. Napavine. It's a gravel driveway. Take it all the way to the end.
Don't forget to post any prayer requests you might have in the comment box, and we also have "business" cards now! Blessings on you all!!!
